Natural Lands Trust Receives $213,000 State Grant

DCNR funding to preserve open space in Marlborough Twp., Montgomery County

The Natural Lands Trust will receive a $213,000 Community Conservation Partnerships Program (CCPP) grant from the state Department of Conservation and Natural Resources for open space preservation in Marlborough Township, Montgomery County, according to Senator Bob Mensch (R-Bucks, Lehigh, Montgomery & Northampton).

The Trust will use the grant for the acquisition of the approximate 22-acre Kulp tract along Knuckles for passive recreation and open space.

The CCPP provides financial and technical assistance to local governments, land trusts, river and trail organizations and other non-profit organizations for the planning, acquisition and development of park, recreation, conservation and greenway areas.

"This is good news for the Natural Lands Trust, Montgomery County and for all local residents," said Senator Mensch, a strong advocate of open space preservation efforts. "Grants that protect open space and our natural environment are long-term investments in communities and improve the quality of life for everyone."
