Senator Mensch Announces Grant for Local School Children

The Quakertown Christian School will be able to help families struggling to pay tuition thanks to a grant of $10,500 from an anonymous donor and from Bravo Foundation.

The money was presented at the school Friday, with representatives from Bravo, along with state Sen. Bob Mensch (R-Bucks, Lehigh, Montgomery, Northampton).

The donor made the contribution through Bravo, a Harrisburg-based organization that connects business, schools and families to education funding through Pennsylvania's Educational Improvement Tax Credit programs.

"It's more than a tax credit for companies, it's a chance to give back to our communities," said Senator Mensch.  "The EITC provides parents to provide a better education and life for their children."

The initiative provides companies with a 75 percent tax credit -- 90 percent for a two-year commitment -- for funds donated to approved, non-profit scholarship or educational improvement organizations.
