April is Child Abuse Prevention Month

We have all seen parents become overwhelmed, tired or stressed with a child.

When a child is unsafe – Don’t ignore it!
You can help

What should you do when you see a parent lose his or her temper and is:

  • Screaming at a child in a public place;
  • Threatening a child in a low, tense voice; or
  • Spanking a child for touching an object that may have sparked her curiosity?

Watching a parent and child in a stressful situation, we may be unsure how to respond. What could we do to help? What is our responsibility?

In Pennsylvania, we believe that we are all responsible for what happens to children. For more information, call Family Resources Parenting WARMLINE at 800-641-4546.
